چکیده
In this paper, the term “leafy-floury silage” was used to describe corn silage hybrids evaluated in study. However, studied did not contain leafy gene nor they a (floury gene, opaque-1 or opaque-2 gene) that would result kernels containing mostly floury endosperm. The were conventional standard/yellow dent varieties. terms “starch” and “floury as common industry define differences ruminal starch digestion observed with different use of standard “floury” intended indicate gene. Lactational responses to postruminal infusions of amino acids in dairy cows fed maize silage, hay or grass silage.
Duodenal infusions of methionine and ly-sine have been shown to increase milk protein yield in dairy cows given a dehydrated maize diet (Rulquin, 1987). As du-odenal amino acids (AA) profiles vary according to diet (Le Henaff, unpublished), a trial was undertaken to test the lactational responses of dairy cows to methionine and lysine infusions with 3 other diets based on either maize silage (M...
متن کاملProductive and metabolic response to two levels of corn silage supplementation in grazing dairy cows in early lactation during autumn
Corn (Zea mays L.) silage (CS) is a nutritious food that can be used as a supplement in dairy cows. The aim of this study was to determine the effect of supplementation with two amounts of CS on milk production and composition, live weight and body condition, as well as on some blood indicators for energy and protein metabolism on dairy cows in early lactation and grazing low mass pasture durin...
متن کاملComparison of Different Lactation Curve Models to Describe Lactation Curve in Moroccan Holstein-Friesian Dairy Cows
In this study, the incomplete gamma function, an exponential function, a mixed-log function and a polynomial function were evaluated to describe the lactation curve in Moroccan Holstein-Friesian dairy cows. Data from 1990 to 1999, comprising 77130 monthly milk yields of 6029 dairy cows in 280 dairy herds, were used. Edits were carried out by considering the lactation length (5 d and

Twenty multiparous Holstein cows, 4 of them surgically fitted with ruminal cannulas, were used in a replicated 4 x 4 Latin square to compare the effects of whole-plant silage and grain produced from NutriDense (ND), leafy NutriDense (LND), or a conventional yellow dent (YD) hybrid on ruminal fermentation, total tract nutrient digestibility, and performance of lactating dairy cows. On a DM basis...
